Frequently Asked Questions

From cooling apparel for warm-weather walks to waterproof four-leg suits, reflective outdoor layers and insulated winter clothing, Vallenestudio designs pet apparel for everyday adventures in changing conditions. Below you will find answers to common questions about sizing, materials, care, weather protection, ordering and product use.

Designed for Real Walks, Real Weather & Real Dogs

Our collection includes waterproof rainwear, lightweight cooling vests, full-coverage four-leg suits, cold-weather jackets, reflective outdoor apparel, insulated coats and seasonal everyday clothing for small, medium and large dogs.

Different styles are designed for different needs. Some focus on keeping dirt, rain and grass seeds away from the coat, while others are created to provide warmth, cooling comfort, visibility or lightweight everyday protection.

Because dogs vary greatly in chest shape, body length, neck size and coat volume, checking the individual product size information before ordering is especially important.

Helpful tip: If your dog is between two sizes, consider the dog's chest measurement, body length, coat thickness and preferred fit before making your final selection.

Sizing & Fit

A comfortable fit helps your dog move naturally and allows the garment to perform as intended during walks, outdoor play and everyday wear.

How do I choose the right size for my dog?

Please refer to the size information provided on the individual product page. We recommend measuring your dog rather than choosing a size only from breed or usual clothing size.

The most useful measurements are generally chest circumference, back length and neck circumference. Measure your dog while standing naturally and keep the measuring tape comfortably close to the body without pulling it tight.

Can I choose a size based only on my dog's breed?

Breed can be a helpful reference, but it should not be the only factor. Dogs of the same breed may have very different chest widths, body lengths, coat thicknesses and proportions.

For example, two Border Collies or Schnauzers of similar weight may still require different garment sizes. Actual body measurements provide a more reliable guide.

What should I do if my dog is between two sizes?

Consider the intended use of the item. For a close-fitting cooling or protective layer, the chest measurement is especially important. For an insulated winter coat, you may also want enough room for natural movement and your dog's coat.

When in doubt, contact us at service@vallenestudio.store before placing your order and provide your dog's measurements together with the product you are considering.

How should a four-leg dog suit fit?

A four-leg suit should provide useful coverage without restricting the shoulders, hips or normal walking motion. Leg openings should sit comfortably, and the body section should not pull excessively across the back or chest.

Always observe your dog after dressing them and make sure they can walk, sit and move comfortably before beginning a longer outdoor activity.

Weather Protection Without Unnecessary Bulk

Outdoor dog clothing can serve many purposes: helping reduce direct exposure to rain, mud, wind, grass seeds, dirt or strong sunlight, while also making post-walk cleanup easier.

Coverage varies by product. A full four-leg waterproof suit offers different protection from a sleeveless rain shell or cooling vest, so always review the specific product description before choosing a style.

No garment replaces supervision. Check your dog's comfort regularly and adjust clothing according to temperature, activity level and weather conditions.

Materials, Waterproofing & Seasonal Use

Are Vallenestudio raincoats waterproof?

Waterproof performance depends on the individual design and construction. Certain outdoor styles are made specifically for rain protection and may include water-resistant or waterproof fabrics, covered construction or sealed areas designed to reduce water penetration.

Please review the individual product description for the exact features of the garment you are purchasing. Extended exposure to very heavy rain, pressure or submerged conditions may exceed the intended use of pet apparel.

What is the difference between a raincoat and a full-coverage four-leg suit?

A traditional raincoat mainly protects the torso and back. A four-leg suit extends coverage over more of the legs and body, which can be useful for dogs that frequently walk through wet grass, muddy paths or areas where burrs, seeds and outdoor debris can become caught in the coat.

How do cooling dog clothes work?

Cooling apparel is generally designed with lightweight, breathable or cool-touch materials intended for warmer conditions. Performance can vary depending on temperature, humidity, airflow, activity level and the individual dog.

Cooling clothing is not a substitute for shade, fresh water, rest or safe temperature management. Avoid strenuous exercise in excessive heat and monitor your dog carefully.

Are reflective details useful at night?

Reflective elements may improve visibility when illuminated by vehicle headlights, flashlights or other direct light sources. They are designed as an additional visibility feature rather than a replacement for responsible nighttime walking practices.

We recommend using appropriate leashes, lights and other visibility equipment whenever walking after dark.

Are the winter jackets suitable for snow?

Our cold-weather range includes padded, insulated and down-style dog apparel intended for lower temperatures and outdoor winter activities. Suitability depends on the specific product, temperature, weather conditions and your dog's natural tolerance to cold.

Small dogs, short-coated breeds, senior dogs and dogs with lower cold tolerance may benefit from additional protection, but outdoor time should still be adjusted to the conditions.

Can protective clothing help reduce dirt and grass seeds?

Full-coverage apparel can help reduce direct contact between the coat and mud, leaves, grass seeds and other outdoor debris. This can be especially useful for long-coated dogs or walks through fields and overgrown areas.

It cannot guarantee complete protection, so always inspect your dog's coat, paws, ears and skin after outdoor activities.

For Rainy Days

Choose coverage according to how wet or muddy your usual walking environment is. Full-leg styles offer more body protection than simple back-cover rainwear.

For Hot Weather

Prioritize lightweight fabrics, airflow and comfort. Always combine summer apparel with water, shade and appropriate outdoor timing.

For Cold Weather

Consider insulation, coverage and freedom of movement. Check your dog's comfort regularly, especially during longer outdoor activities.

Care, Use & Ordering

How should I wash my dog's clothing?

Always follow any care instructions supplied with the individual garment. In general, gentle cleaning helps preserve fabric structure, reflective details, coatings, insulation and garment shape.

Fasten zippers, hook-and-loop closures and buckles before washing when appropriate. Avoid harsh treatment unless specifically permitted by the product care instructions.

How should waterproof clothing be cared for?

Remove surface dirt after use and allow the garment to dry thoroughly before storing it. Avoid prolonged storage while damp. Strong detergents, excessive heat or abrasive cleaning may affect certain coated or technical materials.

How should padded or down-style dog coats be stored?

Make sure the coat is completely dry before storage. Keep it in a dry, ventilated area and avoid prolonged compression whenever possible so the insulation can maintain its loft and shape.

Can my dog wear clothing all day?

Pet apparel is best used with appropriate supervision. Check periodically for rubbing, overheating, tightness or discomfort, particularly around the neck, chest, armpits and leg openings.

Remove the garment when it is no longer needed and never leave a dog in an unsuitable garment for the environmental conditions.

Can I use a harness or leash with the clothing?

Compatibility depends on the individual garment design. Some products may include leash access, integrated attachment features or designs suitable for layering with a harness.

Please review the product page and images carefully. Any attachment point should be inspected before use to ensure it is secure and appropriate for your dog's size and activity.

Can I change my order after placing it?

Contact us as soon as possible at service@vallenestudio.store. We will do our best to assist before the order enters processing or shipment preparation. Changes cannot always be guaranteed once fulfillment has begun.
